Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Design

Let’s start by saying that Vivo T1 Pro 5G is one of the best-looking devices in its segment. Despite the shade being gradient blue, it joins the league of good-looking smartphones. The rear panel has a shiny look that shimmers when light falls on it. The back has a huge camera module with an LED flash at the top. The rest of the rear side is clean. The smartphone has a strong build quality and feels good in the hand. During my use, I didn’t incur any scratches and thus looks neat.

Curved around the edges, the smartphone has a matte look. The premium matte look helps keep the device free of dust and fingerprint smudges. The device is compact and pocketable which makes it easy to use and carry around. The smartphone comes in Turbo Black and Turbo Cyan colors and I have the Turbo Cyan (blue) variant with me for review. The front side sports a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with a water drop notch for the selfie snapper. From the front, the phone might look a little dated with thicker bezels but this in no way makes the T1 Pro look bad. The edges of the smartphone come include buttons that offer various functionalities. The right side features a power button and volume rockers whereas the left edge is a clean slate. The SIM tray is placed on the base along with the speaker grille and USB Type-C port. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack which is a bummer as I feel the headphone jack is still very important for some people. The Vivo T1 Pro is slim with a thickness of 8.49mm and weighs 180 grams which don’t allow it to feel bulky.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Display

The Vivo T1 Pro 5G sports a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a 6 million:1 contrast ratio and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The visuals look decently sized and the screen is clearly visible even under direct sunlight as the device comes with 1300 nits of peak brightness. The Vivo T1 Pro 5G comes with HDR10+ certification which makes the OTT streaming experience even better and the SGS Eye Care Display helps protect your eyes against blue light from the screen. While Vivo T1 Pro comes with a touch sampling rate of 180Hz and a refreshes rate of 90Hz, both of which work fine but the company could have given a higher refresh rate as Vivo gave 120Hz refresh rate in the vanilla T1 5G device which costs lesser. The display is fluid and responsive to play games and gives a good experience while watching movies and web series alike. The visuals usually look good thanks to punchy colors and an excellent contrast ratio.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Battery

The Vivo T1 Pro 5G has a powerful 4700mAh battery which lasts throughout the day with regular usage. My usage included calling, messaging, listening to music, browsing social media, and watching some videos. On a single charge, the battery lasted throughout the day for me, which is pretty decent. However, on days I had long gaming sessions, I had to charge it before the day ended. The smartphone ships with a 66W Flash Charger which charged the device from 0 to 50% in about 22 minutes and from 0 to 100% in about 58 minutes. Overall, battery backup and charging speed are both decent.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Camera

The Vivo T1 Pro 5G has a triple camera setup at the back. The setup includes a 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, there is a 16MP snapper at the front. The main 64MP camera does a good job during day time. The large f/1.79 aperture ensures detailed images with a good dynamic range. The images look social media ready and don’t require any touch-ups if you are clicking for social posting. The large aperture gives decent quality images in low light as well. The Night Mode is below average as shots lack detailing and there are grains around the edges sometimes. Talking about the 8MP ultrawide lens, it is strictly ok. It covers a 117-degree FOV and images clicked have soft details and tone. The colors look different in images than the reality which is a slight issue, but then it can be ignored. The 2MP macro lens has nothing to be said about and is just included for the sake of making it a triple camera setup. The 16MP selfie camera is average because the skin color reproduction which might be very important for many is not up to the mark. Otherwise, images are detailed and the focus is on the subject blurring out the background to make it secondary. The camera of the Vivo T1 Pro 5G comes with various modes like Panorama, Portrait, Slow-motion and more making it useful for content creators. The phone supports 4K video recording which allows you to record your special moments in ultra-high definition. Some useful features include dual video mode and super stabilization.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review: Performance

Vivo T1 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset with Kyro 670 CPU cores. It is an octa-core chipset and an energy-efficient one at that. The processor is fast and handles day-to-day tasks seamlessly. These tasks might include calling, messaging, watching videos, listening to music, browsing social media, having brief gaming sessions, and more. Games like BGMI and Asphalt 9 ran smoothly in medium graphics and high frame rates. This could be because Vivo T1 Pro 5G has a specifically built Ultra Game Mode and Z-axis linear motor along with 4D Game Vibration for faster gaming actions. All these together provide an immersive gaming experience and thus this smartphone could be a gamers delight. Moreover, for content creators, editing tools like canva, Josh, Instagram, etc also run smoothly on T1 Pro 5G. Binge-watching content was decent and there were no lags or stutters even after hours. The Vivo T1 Pro 5G runs Android 12 out of the box with FunTouch OS. It comes with a provision to expand the virtual RAM up to 2GB and gives a clean UI experience. There is loads of bloatware as the smartphone comes with many pre-installed 3rd party apps, but those can be uninstalled as per your needs. The device has up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone has dual stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio support and they work well. As the name suggests, Vivo T1 Pro comes with 5G connectivity as it supports 7 5G bands.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Review Verdict: Should you buy it?

In totality, there is no glaring drawback in the Vivo T1 Pro 5G. Though it could have had a higher refresh rate and a better camera setup along with including a headphone jack, these are not very big disappointments. The smartphone has a fast processor, quick charging, 5G support, and strong build quality which makes it worth the price point. All in all, if you want a good-looking 5G device with decent overall specs under the 25k range, then Vivo T1 Pro 5G can be your choice.
