We’ve compiled a list of the top 5 forthcoming SUVs in India for 2022, which will be unveiled in June and July. The Mahindra Scorpio-N, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Toyota Hyryder, and other vehicles are among those on the list.
Hyundai Venue Facelift
The 2022 Hyundai Venue Facelift is slated to debut on June 16 and the company is already taking pre-bookings. The new Venue will arrive with major design trims and advanced connectivity features. The company has decided to go with the existing engine option that includes a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5L diesel motor. The different transmission choices will include 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, and a 7-speed DCT.
Mahindra Scorpio-N
Mahindra is geared to host its biggest launch of 2022 by unveiling Mahindra Scorpio-N on June 27. The SUV will be introduced globally on the same day with India as its first market. The new Scorpio-N will be driven by a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine similar to the company’s XUV700. It will come with transmission variants of a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT with an option 4×4 for better sports performance.
2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Maruti Suzuki will refresh the popular Brezza lineup in India on June 30. The new 2022 Brezza will arrive with several cosmetic upgrades, a sleeker design, smart connectivity features, and new infotainment and driver cluster. It is likely to get paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel. Powertrain options may include a naturally aspirated Dual VVT and Dual Jet 1.5L petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission modes.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
The Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder will make its official entry to India on July 1 and it will be a successor to the existing Urban Cruiser. It will be presented with a collaboration of Maruti Suzuki and will be a close rival to Hyundai Creta. It will be powered by a 1.5L K15B petrol motor with an AWD engine producing 103bhp and an FWD engine delivering 116hp of power.
Citroen C3
Citroen C3 will be the second car from the brand in India after Citroen C5 Aircross. The company is calling the new sub-compact SUV C3 ‘a hatchback with a twist’. The Citroen C3 will arrive with an 81 bhp 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 109 bhp 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor. The SUV is expected to be the most affordable vehicle on the list to compete against Tata Tiago, Maruti WagonR and Maruti Ignis.
