Samsung One UI 5: New Features

  1. Material You Changes With One UI 5, Material You has been integrated much deeper into the system and is visible in elements like the volume panel. The extended support can be seen in icons as it now includes third-party app icons as well.
  2. Multi-user support The multi-user support can be accessed from Settings > Account and Backup > Users. After it is enabled, each user will have its own set of sandboxed apps and settings, which can come in handy if a device is shared between multiple users.
  3. Notification & Quick Settings Menu App icons seen at the left of every notification have become even more prominent and now sit against colored backgrounds, making identification much easier.
  4. Better Widget stacking With One UI 5, the process to add widgets has become simpler. All one needs to do now is long-press a widget on the home screen, tap creates stack, and select the widgets you want to stack.
  5. Custom call backgrounds While One UI 4 allowed users to change up call backgrounds, options were limited to a collection of built-in ones. With One UI 5, one can use custom images as well for each of your contacts.
  6. Privacy Hub Redesign One will have a new experience due to a complete redesign. You will now see a complete overview of your phone’s security status and stuff you can do to fix any issues.
  7. Other OS changes The Gallery app has grown smarter with text recognition. The Pro Mode in the One UI Camera app has been tweaked with a more intuitive interface. There are some new multitasking gestures as well.
