Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Launch Timeline
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Series will launch in January or February 2023. This is because Samsung usually launches its annual S Series in the first two months of every year. The galaxy S22 Series was also launched in February 2022. The launch timeline seems to be confirmed as a battery for a phone matching the S23 Plus description was up for certification with a South Korean agency in September this year. The timing is the same as the S22 rollout, so seems like Galaxy S23 will be out in February 2023 as well.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Series: SoC
The chipsets for the Galaxy S23 Series are a mystery as of now. This is because there have been quite a few reports claiming different chipsets for the Galaxy S23 devices. Initially, some reports claimed that the company would use a MediaTek chipset in some Galaxy S23 models, but then it was denied. Then, some news reports claimed that Samsung has been working on a Galaxy-only chipset for 2025, but this was also not confirmed. Now, Qualcomm has confirmed that it would provide Snapdragon chipsets to the Galaxy S23 line-up, so this seems like a concrete piece of news. But there are chances that Qualcomm chipsets and Exynos 2300 might not exclusively power Samsung and might make a comeback to some models. However, these are all rumours as of now.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Series: Design & Display
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is expected to adopt a look similar to that of the S22 Series. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to be almost similar in terms of design to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Tipster Ice Universe claims that the S22 Ultra will measure 6.43×3.07×0.35 inches which is a minor increase over the 6.42×3.06×0.35 inches of the S22 Ultra. The tipster claims that the company is making the device thicker to increase the bezel thickness of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Some concept renders of the Galaxy S23 Ultra have leaked online that show a black phone bearing a strong resemblance to the predecessor, but the actual look might have differences. Ice Universe has also tipped the dimensions of the other S23 models. According to them, the Galaxy S23 will flaunt a 6.1-inch 1080×2340 pixel resolution display and the Galaxy S23 Plus will have a 6.6-inch 1080×2340 pixel resolution display. The highest models will have a 6.8-inch 1440×3088 display. The display is expected to receive some upgrades as well, but those are not clear as of now. It could be a higher refresh rate or newer resolutions. The backside of the S23 and S23 Plus might look a little different from their predecessors. Some renders that have surfaced online claim that the phones will come with individually embedded camera sensors, which was the look of the S22 Ultra this year. A new case design also claims that the S23 and S23 Plus might get a design similar to S22 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Colorways

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Cameras
Speculations are rife that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a 200MP main camera that will be a major upgrade over the S22 ultra’s 108MP main lens. However, some other reports claimed that Samsung might use the older ISOCELL HP1 sensor this time but now the company is expected to use an unreleased sensor from Samsung which will beat both the existing HP1 and HP3 sensors. If the 200MP sensor that has been tipped comes to Samsung’s S23 Series, then the smartphone will take on the iPhone 14 Pro. Ice Universe has confirmed that the S23 Ultra will have a 200MP sensor with larger-sized pixels and a larger aperture. GalaxyClub has claimed that the Galaxy S23 and the S23 Plus will come with a 12MP front camera. As for the telephoto and ultrawide lenses, they are not expected to receive any major upgrades. The Galaxy S23 and S23Plus might use a 10MP telephoto lens and the Ultra variant would also keep its 10MP 10x zoom lens. S23 and S23 Plus are said to have the same 12MP ultrawide lenses too.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Battery & Charging
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to pack a 5000mAh battery under the hood. The base S23 Variant is expected to get a 5% increase in battery capacity and the S23 Plus might also get an increase from 4500mAh to 4700mAh. In terms of charging speed, the Galaxy S23 will have the same charging speed as the Galaxy S22, which is 25W. There is no news about the charging speeds of the S23 plus or S23 ultra.
