ColorOS 12: What’s new?

Oppo mentions that it’s Android 12-based OS has incorporated stock-Android-based features like Material You. Theme customization using wallpapers is an Android 12 stock feature that ColorOS 12 incorporates. There are also new animations for 3D icons in the skin. Oppo has also announced Omoji, which uses your facial data and algorithms to generate a customized animated avatar that can be used in emojis. Users can also use a smart sidebar in which translation is one of the elements. According to Oppo, the new skin also includes all the security and privacy features from Android 12. Indicators for microphone and camera are also included, along with approximate location sharing. The ColorOS 12 also adds support for 13 major Indian languages along with 54 other languages. Reno6 Pro 5G, Reno6 Pro Diwali Edition, and Reno6 5G will be the first to receive the update in India. All other supported models will undergo the update between 2021 and 2022.

ColorOS 12: Which phones are eligible?

Oppo has announced a roadmap for all its smartphones that will receive the ColorOS 12 update. The image indicates that the Find X3 Pro 5G will receive the update in October 2021, while the Find X2 and Reno 6 series phones will receive it in November 2021. A745G, F19 Pro+, and Reno 5 Pro 5G will all receive the update in December 2021. The update will also be available for other F-series and A-series phones and the Reno 10X Zoom.
