Moto Tab G62 Review: Design
The design of the Motorola Tab G62 is pretty minimal but doesn’t try too hard to look stylish but that doesn’t mean it looks bad. On the contrary, the Tab looks decent and feels solid in hand. It comes in a single Frost Blue color variant which looks nice.

The right side consists of volume rockers whereas the left edge is left idle. The bottom side consists of a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual speakers. The front side has a huge 10.6-inch display with quite thick bezels. The selfie camera has been placed on the right side of the display if you hold the tablet vertically. The rear panel consists of the Motorola logo and a camera sensor on the top left. However, there is no fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button and Motorola offers only face unlock for security purposes. The tablet G62 supports a stylus but has not included any stylus pen in the box. Thus, you will need to buy it separately if you want to use it. The tablet has a metal body which makes it long-lasting, but neither the display nor the back is resistant to smudges and fingerprints. The tablet is quite huge in size, so you might face difficulty in holding it for a long duration of time. Although it is slim being just 7.45mm in thickness, it weighs 465 grams, which is almost half a kg. Both size and weight make the Tab G62 not really ideal for carrying around. It is neither a compact device nor handy. Like I was constantly anxious about the tab falling from my hands due to its huge size. There is no built-in stand so, you can’t place it on a flat surface to watch content. The tab comes with an IP52 rating for protection against dust ingress but no protection against water, which can be troublesome. Moto Tab G62 Review: Display & Audio
The Moto Tab G62 sports a large 10.6-inch LCD display panel with a 2K resolution of 2000×1200 pixels. The massive display makes sure that you enjoy all the tasks you perform on it. Whether it is watching content or playing games, everything is an immersive experience. The display was ideal both indoors and outdoors, thanks to its good sunlight legibility. The display has glass on the front whereas the frame is made of aluminum. There are considerable bezels all around the display but the big screen size makes sure that one doesn’t pay much attention to the bezels. 60Hz refresh rate is low and this can be felt while scrolling and gaming. The screen freezes and stops responding sometimes. The display comes with Widevine L1 support to watch content in FHD+ on apps like Netflix, and Prime Video. The visuals were clear, crisp, bright, and lifelike. The blacks were deep and the viewing angles were decent. All in all, it is a well-balanced LCD panel for a tablet that is priced under 20k. Along with a good display, good audio is equally important, and Motorola does not disappoint in this regard. The Tab G62 sports 4 speakers which support Dolby Atmos and work exceptionally well. Two speakers are placed on the top, while the other two are placed on the bottom. The quality of these quad speakers is very good. The audio is loud, clear, and distortion-free even at higher levels. Whether you are watching content on playing games, you won’t need to use earphones if you don’t like them. The device has a 3.5mm headphone jack for conventional users.
Moto Tab G62 Review: Camera
The Motorola Tab G62 has a single camera on the back and a single camera at the front. Both rear and front cameras have 8MP sensors without OIS support. Both cameras can shoot videos at 1080p@30fps. There is no OIS support and the tablet relies on EIS. Though the expectations from the camera on budget tablets are not really high, one does want a camera that clicks usable pictures. The same can be said for the cameras of the Moto Tab G62 as if you are a student you will be happy with the kind of pictures, the tablet will click. The quality of images from both lenses is decent. They take good quality shots in a well-lit environment. The shots are clear, vivid without much noise, and detailed. In low light, the picture quality goes down and there is distortion around the edges. Overall, the camera setup could have been better, and if you are someone who needs a good camera on a budget tablet, then opt for Realme Pad X instead. Here are some camera samples. Moto Tab G62 Review: Performance
The Moto Tab G62 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset which is not the perfect choice, but not too bad as well. It is a decently fast and smooth processor for your daily usage. Games like COD Mobile, or Apex Legend cannot run well at higher graphics but basic games like candy crush run smooth. If you try playing games that have high graphics, frame rates drop and that is not a good gaming experience. The tablet has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which are both less than what one wants. Multiple apps run simultaneously in the background but switching between them is sometimes problematic. The tablet sometimes freezes when you try to switch from one app to other. The tablet doesn’t have 5G connectivity, so you have to do with 4G LTE. The tab comes in 2 variants- LTE and WiFi and I received the WiFi variant for review. I performed various benchmark tests, the results of which are below. The tablet runs Android 12 with My UX 3.0 for tab. The OS is fun and easy to use. It comes with various personalization and customizations but there is some amount of bloatware as apps like Netflix come pre-installed. There is no adware and bloatware can be uninstalled if you don’t need it. ALSO READ: Moto G42 Review: An all-rounder that lasts all-day
MotoTab G62 Review: Battery
The Moto Tab G62 packs a 7700mAh battery which will easily last for the day with light to moderate usage. However, if you are a heavy user (long gaming sessions), then you will have to charge the device twice a day. There is support for 20W fast charging support and the charger comes inside the box. However, the fast charging capability is a bit underwhelming, when you notice how the brand gives 33W support for most of its mid-range devices. The 20W charger takes almost 3 hours to charge the tab completely which is disappointing. Better fast charging speed would have been appreciated.
Moto Tab G62 Review Verdict: Should you buy it?
If you are looking for a tablet for everyday use and that too within a 20k budget, then Motorola’s G62 Tablet can be a smart choice. The tablet has a decent design and a 2K display along with packing a large battery. It is IP52 rated and is powered by a good processor. Although the camera setup is underwhelming and charging speed is slow, but that can be overlooked as one can’t expect to get every premium spec in a 15k device.
