This support will include 80 out-of-the-box recommendations for hardening the GCP security, a swift onboarding experience, and a warning system for any bugs in the connected GCP instances. In addition, Microsoft Defender for Cloud now supports all three major cloud platforms.
Microsoft Defender For Google Cloud Support
Announcing this today, Microsoft said it will support “Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with its native CSPM and CWP capabilities, without any dependencies on Google 1st party tools.” This will help the connected Google Cloud Platform detect and warn of any security vulnerabilities found and recommend required solutions for fixing them. Microsoft noted that GCP support today will have a simplified onboarding experience and more than 80 out-of-the-box recommendations to harden the cloud environment. In addition, Microsoft has added support for AWS instances in last year’s Ignite event. And now, adding Google’s, Microsoft’s Defender for Cloud, becomes the only such service to support all big three clouds. Microsoft’s Defender for Cloud suggestions should make it easy to configure the GCP instances, as they will be according to Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks and other protection measures aimed at managing the critical workloads running on GCP. Microsoft has listed the details on how to connect your GCP accounts to Defender for Cloud manually. And also noted how easy for its cloud security to automatically onboard and connect all existing and new compute instances.
