Facebook Merges Instagram and Messenger Chats
According to the Verge reports, when you open an Instagram mobile app, you will see a message saying, “There’s a New Way to Message on Instagram.” With this, it has also listed a few features like more emojis, swipes to reply, new look for your chats, and “chat with friends who use Facebook.” As of now, not all the users will be getting the update option, but soon it will be available for all the users. When you click on the Update button, you will see a new change in the Instagram app. The DM icon of Instagram will be replaced with the Facebook Messenger logo. The look of your chats with friends will be seen colourful with blue and purple colors.
Soon, all the Instagram users will send messages to Facebook users from their Instagram account. It can be the latest step by Facebook to bring products and apps closer. Before this, Mark Zuckerberg has re-branded Instagram ad Whatsapp to increase the awareness that Facebook owns these apps. You might have seen it while you open Instagram or Whatsapp is it written Owned by Facebook. At the starting of this year, Mark Zuckerberg said it is a long term project, and the functionality of the app will be done at the end of 2020. In the year 2012, Facebook bought Instagram, the photo-sharing app, for $715 million. Instagram has more than 1 billion users. The team and the company are working on changing Instagram’s branding to “Instagram from Facebook.”
