Dyson Zone features
Dyson Zone marks the company’s first step into wearable technology. They come with noise-canceling and high fidelity. They are over-ear headphones that deliver music to your ears and purified airflow to the nose and mouth of the user. The company has claimed that the air filtration tech is backed by its marquee air quality R&D. There are 4 purification modes present- low, medium, high, and auto-designed for different levels of exertion. It has inbuilt accelerometers to toggle between high, medium, and low purification modes when required. Dyson says that it has gone for a non-contact solution to make headphones comfortable to wear. The face mask doesn’t have full face contact and gives a clean air delivery. Compressors within earcups of the Dyson Zone draw air through dual-layer filters fitted within headphones. There is a negatively charged electrostatic filter too that catches ultrafine particles whereas the potassium enriched carbon layer captures city gas pollutants. It claims to capture 99% of particle pollution down to 0.1 microns. The compressor in the device then channels the purified air to the wearer’s nose and mouth via a contact-free visor. The newly launched headphones will connect to the company’s app to monitor filtration and control settings. Coming to the sound quality, Dyson Zone is equipped with neodymium drivers to give a neutral sound signature. There are 3 ANC modes- Isolation, Conversation, and Transparency. The Isolation mode is the highest level of ANC while the Conversation mode will amplify nearby conversations. Transparency Mode will allow users to amplify sounds around them, allowing them to be aware of what’s happening in their surroundings. In combined air purification, audio playback, and ANC mode, the visor remains attached to headphones, while users can optionally remove the visor for audio-only mode. Users living in regions where covering the face is compulsory due to coronavirus can use this face-covering attachment too. It took the company 6 years of Research and Development and 500 prototypes to come up with this product. Now, Dyson is planning to sell these headphones globally this year. In India, these headphones are expected to get launched in September. Full specs and details will be available soon.
