Under the pledge of Keep Americans Connected, FCC chairman Ajit Pai asked every telecom company to serve their best amidst Coronavirus breakout. This led companies like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Google Fiber to waive a few charges and even provide some free services. Entering this suit lately is America’s largest home internet provider, Comcast. It pledged to serve as below:

Making Xfinity Free

Comcast said that its Xfinity hotspots shall spread across the country and serve people for free. People can detect the nearest Xfinity hotspots and connect to them directly.

Removing Data caps

Comcast pronounced to waive off the data caps it set to unlimited now. It said most of the customers don’t reach the monthly data cap of 1TB, and would let them consume limitlessly for the next 60 days.

Free internet with increased data speeds

Comcast’s Internet Essentials is a starter broadband plan for low-income families. This was now made free for new subscribers for the next 60 days, which would cost $9.95/month. Further, the speeds of this plan are increased too, making 25mbps downstream and 3mbps upstream.

Not disconnecting or charging late fees

Users, if unable to pay Comcast, can now call up and let the firm know about their poor situations, and stay connected even after non-payment of dues.

Through its Xfinity X1 service, Comcast will educate people about the official updates and news about Coronavirus regularly. All these are free for the next 60 days only.
